Dr. John Ch'ng

Dr. Ch'ng is
from Penang, a small island in the Indian Ocean off the west coast of
Malaysia. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Singapore,
School of Medicine in 1977. In 1979 he was awarded membership of the Royal
College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. He did research at the Royal
Postgraduate Medical School in London, England, before completing an endocrinology
and metabolism fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham,
NC. While training in clinical endocrinology, he also conducted independent
research in various aspects of endocrine diseases (see Bibliography
Listing).
In 1989 he was
appointed to the faculty at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville,
TN, where he served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director
of the Endocrinology Clinic until 1995. He joined Endocrinology Diabetes
Associates in 1995.
Dr. Ch'ng is
certified in both internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism by
the American Board of Internal Medicine. His special interests are in
osteoporosis, diabetes, thyroid diseases, and endocrine tumors.
